TOWN OF AUGUSTA, MO
In August of 2010, Augusta kicked off a planning process to develop a new comprehensive plan. The plan will guide future development, help the town overcome current problems, as well as address concerns and ideas for the future.
Below is a list and a brief description of the five town meetings held throughout the Town of Augusta's Comprehensive Planning process as well as the public hearing and the Planning Commission adoption meeting.

Attendees identified issues and concerns that they have about the Town of Augusta as well as the town's strengths and what they would like to see for the future. Groups of town residents engaged in a hands-on design exercise in which they developed their own future land use maps for the town, depicting how they felt the town should look in 10 - 15 years. These maps will ultimately be used to develop the town's preferred future land use map, a component of the comprehensive plan.

The planning consultant presented proposed DRAFT Town Goals for citizen review and feedback.
Monday, January 17th, 2011
The planning consultant presented the proposed Future Land Use Map and the proposed Town Goals and Action Items based on the outcomes of the previous Town Meetings and other information gathered throughout the planning process for citizen input and feedback.

The planning consultant presented the proposed Final Comprehensive Plan to the Steering Committee and citizens in attendance for input and feedback. Based on feedback from this meeting, the planning consultant prepared the Final Draft of the Comprehensive Plan (see link on the Home Page.)
Monday, June 27th, 2011
A public hearing for the Comprehensive Plan was held by the Planning Commission Monday, June 27, 2011 at 7PM at the Dan Kemner Building, there were no comments from the public.
Monday, June 30th, 2011
The Planning Commission met on Monday, June 30the, 2011 at 7PM and the Final version of the Town of Augusta Comprehensive plan was officially adopted. A link to the adopted version of the Comprehensive Plan is provided below. There will also be a hard copy of the plan available at the Town Library.
